On Tuesday we had our last charity event for 2009, the picnic at Clifton 2nd beach.

We knew that chances were that only few people would participate, as Wednesday the 16th was a public holiday. 7 of us enjoyed the perfect conditions of Tuesday night, a beautiful sunset and also a very competitive game of volleyball!

We thank the following people who either joined us for the picnic, or donated to the charity if they were unable to attend:

We managed to raise a total of R205.00 from the picnic which will be added to the hike donations of R225.00 and utilised to provide some Christmas cheer to Huis Luckhoff residents.

Total monies raised from the two events thus far: R430.00

We intend to try and make these charitable events a regular happening during 2010, and would be most happy to hear your suggestions. Keep an eye on the blog and also Facebook as we discuss the events that will commence again from February.

With summer arriving what better way to start your day than to watch the sunrise from atop the breathtaking Lion’s Head?

As part of our Huis Luckhoff fundraising campaign we have organised a Lion’s Head sunrise walk on the 3rd of December, 6am.

We are asking an optional donation of R25 per person to join us on the walk.
Funds raised will be dontated to the  Huis Luckhoff home for the aged and will be used to pay for a quality meal for the residents on Christmas.

We will meet at Signal Hill Road, at the Base of the forestry rd and all are welcome!

As part of a fundraising initiative, Huis Luckhoff hosts an annual fete.

The November fete for this year proved to be hugely successful again.

There was a great turn-out and the event sold-out of just about everything on offer by 12pm!

According to Manager, MR JFC Burmeister: “As usual it was a lovely event.  Families, friends and residents met and enjoyed the fete around all the different stalls.   There was a jumping castle, face painting and sand art for the children to keep them busy.  The not so young enjoyed coffee, tea and eatables while chatting their hearts out.  We thank everyone for their support and trust and that they will be back 2010 with pockets full of money.”
